his bed sits on a thick rug, with more than a couple pillows resting near the headboard. a few feet away is an armoir, and a decoration on the wall (it's easy to tell the swords are not real). there's also a sofa near a bookcase. the spines of the fake books contained on the shelf seem to vary between books about history, politics, adventure novels, fairy tales, and mythology. the clock sitting on the wall makes a soft ticking noise every so often, adding to the noise of the crackling fireplace. a woven tapestry sits on the wall above the fireplace.

[ hope is taken aback for a few moments before he snaps back to reality and steps into rupert's room. though he's grown now, there's a flash of the wide-eyed teenager rupert originally met him as in his expression before it smooths out to something a little more composed. ]
Sorry, I was... a little surprised by how cozy your room is.
[ he nods, choosing to sit on the sofa... wrow. after taking another cursory look around, he focuses his attention back on rupert, his brow now furrowed in consternation. ]
...I heard from Harrowhark that you woke up buried, like Claude did last week. Is this true?
...Yeah. Like he said last week, I felt something hit me in the head, I had really a really weird dream, and then - I woke up in a coffin and had to crawl my way back up.
Being suitemates, I speak with her a lot. Once she told me that...I wanted to hear your account personally. [ he frowns. ] Please don't take this as me suspecting you of anything—on the contrary, I'm just... concerned for you.
[ he nods, expression now a little softer as he flashes back to rupert's trial back at wiwaldi. ]

Some of it's a long story. At least, in the specific ways it - ties back to some stuff that happened back home. But I guess, to put it briefly...

I was in a forest, and I kept hearing this voice tell me to run, but I felt like I was imagining it. Like I had to keep calm because someone was waiting for me. Then I got... attacked by people I recognized from back home. But it kind of just kept happening over again? They'd attack me and I'd wake up at the start of the forest again when it was over, and it just went on. [...] But a lot of it felt - personal, so I think it was probably just something whoever's in charge did to mess with me.
It was, yeah. That's part of why I didn't run... While I was dreaming, I was sure I'd been there before. And I've definitely spent time in a forest like that before, so I don't think it was just, like, dream logic.
