There are 36 individual rooms on the floor we're staying on, so I'm not too surprised. That's not even factoring in this place's ability to warp the dimensions of space... making things larger than they appear to be on the outside, that is.
[ he glances down the hall, thinking... ]
...As efficient as it would be to split up, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to head out alone. [ turns to face rupert ] Were you planning on exploring?
Then let's try and cover some ground together. Keep your guard up.
[ as he starts to lead the way and place his hand on the knob to door 7, hope realizes this must be kind of weird for rupert—here he is as an adult taking responsibility, when rupert probably remembers him as the small 14-year-old he was back at the school.
Well, it's only been a few months for you since we last saw each other at the school, but for me, it's been more than a decade. It must be strange seeing someone who was younger than you now a grown adul—
[ ...he is not able to finish his sentence, though, because as soon as they're in the room, they're greeted by puppets of them and the other 34 guests hanging from the walls. ]
[he nearly responds before, yeah. puppets! he pauses for a long moment as he looks around, long enough to realize exactly who these are modeled after.]
Yeeeah, this is automatically the worst. Maybe we should just...
[turn back and leave. but he cuts himself off, because when he tries to do just that, it looks like the door is conveniently locked. unfortunate.]
[ well, at the very least, no one is dead yet, so none of the puppets are cut down or bloody! they are definitely still staring at the two of them with their big, creepy eyes, though. despite this, hope stands his ground, stepping in front of rupert in a protective manner. ]
Do you have anything on you that you could use as a weapon?
[ fortunately, hope does not show the same hesitation that rupert does when voicing what he feels like is an inevitability. he does stand down a bit when rupert reassures him, though he still presents himself as the primary target should the marionettes attack them after all. ]
I doubt that they're here just to freak us out. Though... I have a strong suspicion they hold the key to getting out of here.
[ with that, he cautiously approaches the one that looks like him; he doesn't touch it, but he does stare back into its empty, glassy eyes. ]
[he's tempted to stop him before he approaches, but he doesn't exactly have a better idea for how to get out of here. he's watching closely, though, just in case one of these terrifying puppets makes a sudden motion.]

[so, he nods.]
I definitely want to check some of them out. It's better to know what kinds of places are out here.

[he glances up at him, though - there are a few things that are strange about this situation, so he doesn't immediately pick up on his meaning.]
Like - which part? This place is kind of strange in general, but I get the feeling that isn't what you meant.

[in response to the protective stance hope is already taking. to the question, though, he shakes his head.]
Yeah, fresh out... What do you think they want? They aren't moving or anything.
[yet, he thinks but doesn't say.]
