Is your world pretty low-tech? Maybe that's hard to quantify when it's the world you're used to. But... maybe not, if you've been to two other places.

Yeah. We don't have electricity or anything like that, as an example... That's the one a lot of people seemed surprised by.

Once it exists it's really pervasive so it's hard to imagine things without it.

It is too, but it's a little less direct. Candles are open flames, but electricity can be safeguarded.

Huh. Well, there are safeguards for candles, too, at least.

We only pull out the candles for like... when the power goes out.

There are centralized power grids across cities. So different neighborhoods are getting their electricity in - like, batches, basically. The sources of those can get damaged sometimes. Like during storms and stuff, mostly.

How hard is it to fix when that happens?

Not too hard. I don't really know how it works, but it's usually fixed within a couple hours unless the storm lasts. Then it might take a day or two.

It's like... [ thinks. ] Kind of hard to describe, actually? Like, it depends on the game. But there's usually a board with a bunch of different spots marked on them. And you each choose a piece to represent you, and you take turns moving that piece depending on... dice rolls or card draws. And the different spots you land on make you do different things.
