That's right. He went by the name "Baraqiel" when we first met. Where we were, there were groups called the Celestials and the Temporals. He and I were both Celestials.
We thought that was the case at first, like we had to somehow balance ourselves out after the first murder... but... no. It didn't turn out to be the case.
It was just entertainment. Like chess pieces for a higher power.
It was a lot. But it was for the better. It's... difficult to explain, unfortunately.

Something about their... "DNA" whatever that is... having to match? It's... [ he wiggles a hand ] more than I could really understand. All we knew at the end of the day was that the Watchers had to... enter that bomb and become the fuel for the explosion. That was the only way we were able to end things. For good.
Sure. Um, the reason we were being kept there was because of a story, actually... It needed us to stay there so we could find an ending to it. It made some of us villains, and we had to fight against them. After that was over and they were back, we had to decide what we wanted the ending to be.
Well - a lot of it was really nice. We made sure we could all go home safely, and that the people it forced to be villains got to come back to us, too. The kind of happy ending you'd want to read about.
