[ with the many portraits of the hotel's various occupants, it definitely isn't hard to find the people he's recently met. he has a promise to keep after all, so with polaris in tow in all of his white-furred glory, kaeya is making his way through the various portraits, committing certain room numbers to memory until he encounters a very familiar portrait and gives the door a shave-and-a-haircut knock.
polaris sits at his feet, tail swishing excitedly and when the door opens, kaeya smiles. ]
[he opens the door further, enough that the small red dragon sitting by his side is visible. porridge glances at polaris curiously, but he doesn't seem aggressive at all as he does. his tail swishes a little.]
Ah - he doesn't bite, I promise, I've trained him. He just likes making friends.
[at that, he steps back so kaeya can come in! he'll see that the walls and floor (pretend there's no bookcase in this picture but everything else is there,) are made of stone. somehow, it doesn't feel cold despite that, though that might be due to the warmth emanating from the fireplace. though the flames that flicker there aren't real, they still give off heat. similarly, the flames on the sources of light don't appear to be real. the rest of the light in the room comes from the window resting just above his desk, which always shows a field of wildflowers.
his bed sits on a thick rug, with more than a couple pillows resting near the headboard. A few feet away is an armoir, and a decoration on the wall (it's easy to tell the swords are not real). there's also a sofa near a bookcase. the spines of the fake books contained on the shelf seem to vary between books about history, politics, adventure novels, fairy tales, and mythology. the clock sitting on the wall makes a soft ticking noise every so often, adding to the noise of the crackling fireplace. a woven tapestry sits on the wall above the fireplace.]
Never met a dragon this small before, how fascinating... is this "Porridge"? From the book?
[ the guess only comes from knowing his and diluc's own daemons were listed by name. and the idea that rupert came with slimy porridge in his pockets just didn't really sit right, so.
polaris doesn't seem all that worried about the dragon either, trotting over and leaning forward to sniff carefully at the dragon. his tail wags curiously as kaeya takes the room in. it's impressive that they've been able to construct such a wide variety to such unique specifications. ]
I'm impressed, this is rather nice. Are you feeling at home in your new room?
2. You open a door and find yourself in an art gallery, full of paintings of people you know from your own world and from your sojourn into your previous games. They're watching you. Always watching you. The paintings appear normal, at first, but slowly shift until they depict the people you know in horrifying, traumatic situations, their eyes fixed on you accusingly. No matter where go, their eyes follow you. After what feels like an entire day in the gallery you find yourself back in the hall, disoriented and with the unshakeable sensation of being watched. Only four minutes have passed.
[ hi rupert, welcome to the weirdo art museum that has yet to turn on either of them! currently, kaeya has only just arrived, looking around as though uncertain of where precisely to start. he turns his head the moment he hears another person present, his expression easy-going. ]
[ whatever conjured them up is clearly observing and having the time of their life. nothing was ever accomplished standing still so... down the doors he's gone and this one is.
eerie, but calm. he'll take it. for now. ]
Something's off. We'll just have to keep vigilant as we go.
[ he does glance around to truly take in anyone familiar and gives a nod. ]
But yes, some of them are rather familiar... what about you?
[a while after all that, he's walking into the restaurant! by now he's had a change of clothes and a shower, and seems to be less in pain. however serious the wounds on his arm and back still are, they're covered by his clothing once again. there's still a gauze patch pressed over his eye, so it's hard to know exactly how healed it might be.
either way, when he sees kaeya, he's freezing and taking a step back.]
[he hesitates for a long moment before he moves to sit down, and - nearly misses the chair, catching himself on the table before he can fall with a wince. et tu depth perception
anyways, as he balances:]
...How's your hand? And your - you know, everything else. Someone healed you, right?
[ kaeya turns to give him a soft nod from where he is just kind of... wandering aimlessly it seems. polaris is over sniffing one of the big winged and hooded statues. ]
I'm... I honestly don't know what it is I expected to wake up to.
[it's hard to imagine cloud having an Even Worse thursday night after all that.]
I just hope that there's a separate area they're being sent to, and it's at least... calmer than here. Not that it makes it alright that this is happening if that's the case.
[ courtyard walk to clear the mind, but also because there's tea service and kaeya was going to sit down with some. as he walks, he'll spot rupert and give him a soft nod. ]
Clem's an extraordinary young woman. I don't really want to think about what's going to happen tomorrow right now, but nothing's very distracting at the moment.
[ kaeya is /throws dart at the library and sitting down with a bunch of poetry books as well as his stationary pad and a pen. in his hair are a number of silver butterfly pins artfully arranged in his hair. he's humming as he occasionally writes something down, polaris at his feet snoozing. when he hears someone, he turns, seeing rupert and giving a wave.
his skin is giving off glittery starry vibes, swirling over his cheeks, along his eyes, and wherever skin is visible mostly. ]
[he's been switching between a few different effects this week, but when he walks towards kaeya he has a pair of dog ears on his head. they look very fluffy.
he waves back, looking amused.]
You definitely seem like you're having a good day... Did something nice happen?
[ oh what a beautiful moooooooorning. kaeya is meandering the newest floor, in particular the spa where he is seated, holding a tube of mascara that is shut now, gently patting polaris' face with it and talking to him in a very soft voice.
when he looks up, he smiles immediately, however. ]
w0, saturday.
...Wow. Looks like something changed in here.
[thank u lup and sheila]

Quite the spread... impressive. Not sure if they're trying to make a good impression or what, but...

You think it's safe? I mean, it seems weird for them to bring us all this way just to poison us, but...

Yeah! This place isn't that bad. Just a little, uh...
