[BEING CURSED BY A LITTLE SOUL FIRE STUCK IN A LANTERN...]
I could always use a little help in the kitchen! [Not because he's constantly lonely and craving company or anything!!] --But yes, I believe some good news would be a wonderful thing.
Oh! [His expression lights up a little! Hell yeah.] That is good news... I received a letter from Mikazuki-san asking about other methods of sending things, but it's wonderful to know that we can at least confirm this. A few flower petals got through with mine, too.
Oh, good! I've been looking for the other three people he supposedly sent letters to. He wanted me to tell everyone to sign theirs?
[HE SURE HASN'T BEEN but he'll be surprised if Rupert didn't... Hilarious. But he just smiles at that.]
I believe he may have found out through Tsurumaru-san... He asked me to introduce myself in my next letter so that he could have a reason to bring me up, so I suppose it isn't something they can speak of freely - the phone, that is.
It's been Tsurumaru every time, right? The phone calls, I mean. I wonder if it's a role, then... Did you have those in your last competition? If so, it might explain why he can't talk about it.
That's what I had thought... Mm, well - I'll pass it on to the other two, anyway.
[But he nods at that!]
We did, yes, and they also couldn't speak openly about their roles until much closer to the end of things. That was my guess, as well - and Kaeya-san's, too.
It is! Though I would have preferred for it to stay emptier here, to be honest... [He would not have but he'd feel lower than low if he ever admitted that aloud.] Everyone I've met has been so kind, too.
It's a little bit selfish, probably, but - given how things were back home, even though I wish nobody came to this situation at all, it's been really wonderful to have the chance to meet everyone.
Pretty shortly after I came here... I told someone that no matter what happened here, I think I'd always be a little bit glad that I wound up in this place, because it means I got to meet new people that I never would have otherwise. I still think that's true, even now.

[qr cursing them even now... he sighs.]
I wouldn't exactly call myself a cook, but if there's anything I can do to help, let me know. [...] Could you use some good news?

[friendship!! but anyways.]
It worked. The thing with the tickets, I mean. I found three of them in a letter Jason sent me.

[USELESS BUT CUTE.]

[smiling! but then pausing.]
Wait - he sent it specifically to you? That must mean they found out about you somehow! That's great!

He is. He was a really good friend to me. And still is, but - you know.
[sometimes you aren't sure whether to frame something in past or present tense. it's fine.]

[Sometimes your whole existence is just complicated...]
That feels like something he might agree with, anyway.
no subject
[noooo giving up!!]
I hope so. It'd be nice to know he felt the same.
no subject
Ah - this is just me being nosy, so you're free to ignore, but - the two of you met here, right?
no subject
[talking about friends, his favorite thing.]
We met here, yeah... Why do you ask?
no subject
I'm just curious! You speak of him so fondly that it's almost as though you came from the same place. It's very sweet.

[He also has attachment issues and bonds at the speed of light but, y'know.]

[after everyone you've ever known got wiped out! wow.]

[of people having to die horribly to get here! unfortunate.]
no subject
...Still - at least we are making the most of it here.

[not nice that many of them super died, though!!]

I understand what you mean. It's a little difficult to say that it's been nothing but horrible things the whole way through...
